Honda wins Car Truck of Year

here were a lot of happy faces on the Honda stand during the press days of the North American International Auto Show, as the company swept the North American Car and Truck of the Year awards.

The Civic family was judged best new car by a panel of 49 automotive journalists in the U.S. and Canada (including yours truly), beating the Ford Fusion and Pontiac Solstice.

The Ridgeline pickup was chosen as best new truck, over Ford Explorer and Nissan Xterra.
There were a lot of happy faces at Honda Canada as well, since both of these products are built in the companys Alliston facility.

Each of the same vehicles has also won its respective category in the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada Car/Truck of the Year program; the overall car and truck winners will be announced at the Canadian International AutoShow in February. —Jim Kenzie
